BANGKOK - 28 December 2018 – The CROSSROADS, Maldives’ first integrated lifestyle destination and mega project by Thailand’s premier property developer and investment holding company Singha Estate Public Company Limited, took home Best Leisure Development award from the recently-held Japan International Property Awards (JIPA) 2018.

Depicted as “where cultures meet”, the name CROSSROADS originates from the fact that the Maldives is strategically located on the Maritime Silk Road bridging the East and the West, where various cultures had crossed paths and interacted with one another in the past. The project will further strengthen this experience through the incorporation of Eastern and Western architecture impressions including the glorious marriage of old-world French designs, traditional Arabian themes, and design concepts from Portugal, China, and Britain of the Marina @ CROSSROADS by the world-renowned Bensley Design; along with the designs by HBA, SCDA and Eco-id behind the projects on other islands. Through its carefully crafted designs and construction, CROSSROADS draws a protective brushstroke over the pristine, ocean-blue backdrop of this vibrant nation, with a robust approach to environmental conservation, aiming to restore the Maldives delicate natural surroundings to its full glory.

“The CROSSROADS Maldives is Singha Estate’s biggest development by Singha Estate to date. Set to open in 2019 at Emboodhoo Lagoon, the project will be the first integrated lifestyle destination and not-to-be-missed attraction in the Republic of Maldives. We are very proud to win the first-ever awards for the project and hope there will be many more to come,” said Mr. Naris Cheyklin, Chief Executive Officer, Singha Estate Public Company Limited

The Japan International Property Awards (JIPA), organized by Japanese real estate marketplace PropertyAccess.co, awarded Southeast Asia’s best developers and projects. This year, there were 29 entries from Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Maldives, Indonesia, Cambodia, and the Philippines.

The CROSSROADS Maldives, the first integrated lifestyle destination in the Republic of Maldives is set to open in 2019. The project encompasses the opening of two hotels and resorts including SAii Lagoon Maldives, Curio Collection by Hilton, and Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, as well as an 11,000 sqm. retail and entertainment space under the name of The Marina @ CROSSROADS. With its full range offers of international restaurant and retail outlets, CROSSROADS aims to cater to a wide range of visitor, including family, friends and business travelers.
